Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 8, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what data LifeScore ("we," "us") collects when you use lifescores.org, how we use it, and the choices you have. Plain language version below; please read it carefully.
The short version
- Your assessment answers stay on your device. We never receive your full answer set on our servers.
- To unlock the paid plan, you check out through Stripe, which collects your payment information directly. We receive only the metadata Stripe sends back about whether the payment succeeded.
- We use Vercel Analytics to count page views and conversion events. It does not use cookies or collect personal information.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third-party advertisers.
What we collect
Information you provide. When you take the assessment, you enter your age, income range, savings range, living situation, relationship status, and dependents, plus answers to the assessment questions. This information is stored only in your browser's local storage and encoded into the URL hash on your results page. It is never transmitted to or stored on our servers.
Aggregate test stats. When you finish the assessment, we send two values to our server: your overall score (a number 0-100) and your age bracket (e.g. "25-29"). Nothing else. We use these to compute and display the running test average so users can see how they compare to other test-takers their age. We never receive your specific answers, your age, your income, savings, or any identifier. The stats are aggregated and cannot be reversed to identify you.
Payment information. If you choose to unlock the full action plan, you check out through Stripe's hosted Checkout page. Stripe collects your name, email, billing address, and payment method directly. We never see or store your card details. After payment, we receive from Stripe a session identifier and your email address (used for the receipt Stripe sends you automatically). We use this only to verify that the payment succeeded.
Analytics data. Vercel Analytics collects anonymized page-view data, including your country (derived from IP, then discarded), browser type, device type, and the page URLs you visit. It does not use cookies, does not assign you a persistent identifier, and is GDPR/CCPA-compliant out of the box. We also fire custom events for key actions (assessment started, completed, unlock clicked, purchase succeeded) that contain no personal information.
Server logs. Like any website, our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps short-term logs of incoming requests, including IP addresses. These are kept for 30 days for security and debugging purposes only.
How we use the information
- To compute your assessment results and display them to you.
- To verify that your $4.99 unlock payment was completed.
- To understand how the site is performing in aggregate (which pages get traffic, which conversion steps people drop off at).
- To respond to support inquiries you send us.
We do not use your data to train AI models, build profiles, target advertising, or share with third parties beyond the service providers listed below.
Service providers we use
- Vercel — hosts the website and runs analytics. Vercel privacy policy.
- Stripe — processes payments. Stripe privacy policy.
- Google Fonts — serves typography. We use Next.js's self-hosted font feature, which means fonts are served from our own domain rather than from Google.
Your shareable URL
When you complete the assessment, your full answer set is encoded into the URL hash (the part after the # in your browser). Anyone with that URL can see your full report. Treat it like a private link: share it intentionally, don't post it publicly, and don't paste it into untrusted services.
Cookies and tracking
LifeScore does not set tracking cookies. The site uses your browser's local storage to save your assessment progress and your unlock entitlement so you can refresh without losing your place. Local storage stays only on your device.
Vercel Analytics uses an HTTP request only (no cookie). You can opt out by enabling Do Not Track in your browser, which Vercel Analytics honors.
Your rights
Because we don't store your assessment answers on our servers, there's very little to delete or export. You can:
- Clear your browser's local storage to delete your saved progress and unlock entitlement.
- Discard or change the URL of your shareable result.
- Email us to request deletion of any payment records we hold (Stripe-side; subject to Stripe's retention requirements).
- Email us with any other privacy-related question or request.
Children
LifeScore is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used the site, please contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete any associated information.
International users
LifeScore is operated from the United States. If you use the site from outside the US, you understand that any data you transmit may be processed in the US.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated through a notice on the home page.
